ABOUT:
Unique shapes with a fun pop of color! I love the versatility and stackability of gypsy bands, especially the chunky ones that also make a statement alone, and this one is quite special. I have found it somewhat uncommon to find Emerald gypsy bands, (I most often find them with sapphires, rubies or just diamonds) so I was thrilled to find this one not only with an emerald but with the unique angled baguette cut diamonds on each side. And with the emerald possessing such a gorgeous color, sheen and polish, as they can often be heavily abraided with a matte finish.
Found in France, but I am not sure its origin. It has the 750 numerical hallmark for 18k gold used in Europe. It has a nice and sturdy hand feel. Soft and warm glowing yellow gold and age related patina richening the gold.
It is pretty fabulous and a lot of fun to wear. A great unisex design.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/4, a little over. The face is 8.5mm north to south tapering but remaining wide towards the back and stands 5.4mm off the finger. It weighs a sturdy 8.8 grams. The diamonds are about 4.5x3.5mm and the emerald is about 5.7mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. The emerald has eye visible natural inclusions, some a frosty gray color in the center and leading up to the surface leaving a tiny hairline crease seen only under strong magnification. It was polished when the stone was cut so it is a natural characteristic of the stone. It has a gorgeous deep green hue. The diamonds are eye clean. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings, including the trees outside the window. Fun one to wear and stack, never seen one with coloring like this before!
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
