ABOUT:
Beautiful ornate antique chain to layer or wear alone. Each little link has three ball rivets on each side coming to a point to add a lovely texture. This piece is crafted in 18k solid gold, which has a rich warm antique patina that reads quite rosy with a buttery glow. I just love the look of antique gold like this! The clasp at the back is nearly invisible as the catch is patterned to match the chain. It shimmers and catches the light beautifully.
I purchased this in England but it is actually French in origin. It has several hallmarks on the clasp, two for French 18k gold and then a goldsmith stamp. Antique boxes / any additional items in displays in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 12.75g. Stretched end to end it's 19 1/2 inches. The book chain links are 6.7mm wide. The thickness / depth of each link is about 1.5mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Beautiful rich patina that has warmed the 18k gold - it has a beautiful glow. There is a weld near the clasp at the back, very tidily done but a different patina and no movement between the links in that one spot. This would not be very noticeable if at all while wearing. Some signs of it being worn from age, where there is a very slight / gradual curve, or a ripple here or there but still very stable. Some surface wear but this is only seen if you study it up close due to the mirrored finish. To the eye and while wearing it as an amazing color and shine, like I said it truly glows. There are no dark or colored spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings. Impactful worn alone but also layers well with other pieces.
