ABOUT:
This ring has great geometry. The wide band is crafted in rosy 18k gold with a beveled design where the two halves of the shank angle up towards the center. At the ring face, the cushion cut old mine cut has a uniquely shaped large open culet set into a diamond shaped bezel. So multiple instances of geometry make this a great stacker, chunky enough to wear alone or would make a unique antique wedding band.
French antique hallmark used primarily in the 1800s for 18k gold.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 6 1/2. The diamond is about a quarter carat, measuring about 4.2 mm.
The ring face is 7mm north south and domes 4.5mm off the finger.
The ring weight is a sturdy 5.5 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamond with one area of icy inclusions that carry up to the surface on one side edge, not visible except under magnification. There are also some natural indented inclusions to one pavilion facet edge which is visible when you study the stone under magnification from the top down. This has been there since the cutting of the stone but I wanted to mention it. Very slightly, barely eye visible but not glaring.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
