ABOUT:
The sweetest antique diamond solitaire ring with openwork buttercup face. Each shoulder of the ring has a little figural bow. French piece from the Victorian era, it holds an old mine cut diamond - may have been an engagement ring but makes also a darling stacker.
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

The diamond is about 4mm and a chunky cut.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamond, it has an eye visible carbon inclusion. We see this sometimes with antique stones cut in much more limited supply, long before anyone placed any emphasis on the modern "Four C's" marketing for the millions of carats of machine cut diamonds produced each year. It is a nice chunky cut. Two prongs are worn back but the four hold the diamond without movement. This is typical for age and something to keep an eye on over time. The back of the shank is worn quite thin - something to keep in mind if planning to wear it tightly on a finger or if planning to have it sized, you'd want to discuss with your jeweler prior.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
