I was blessed to take some inventory trips to Europe these past months and have come back with many "new" antique pieces in all price points. I will be listing new items each week for the foreseeable future so please feel free to follow. These items have been hand picked, one treasure at a time from all around Europe as I try to curate a collection of unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
ABOUT:
Gah so much fabulousness in one ring! This glowing natural green emerald and old mine cut diamond beauty is one I just picked up in Paris and is among my faves of the trip. The emerald is a certified 1.4 carat natural green emerald, stable in color with origin of Zambia, minor amount of oil and in good condition for age.
The emerald alone is pretty great, but I love this setting. The oval ring face has two layers, with emerald in the middle with a chunky old mine cut above in below - the three stones being set in a vertical line, slightly raised in prongs. On each side, set slightly lower in elevation are five additional smaller old mine cut diamonds to complete the halo. But it's a unique halo with the two tiered / almost 3D design of the piece to add a little extra ornateness - so special.
I also love it because this Paris find bears the French antique period hallmark for 18k gold, used primarily in the 1800s and discontinued by the very early 1900s, guaranteeing its age, antique-ness and provenance.
The emerald prongs are in the yellow gold to match the sturdy shank while the diamond settings are topped in platinum as was customary for the period.
Comes as pictured in an antique box which is not original to the piece but the ring is so fabulous, I wanted to give it proper housing so I pulled one from my collection for it. These antique boxes, especially those with graphics are collectible and valuable on their own with us antique jewelry addicts : )
Certificate for the emerald is from Bellerophon Gemlab on Place Vendome in Paris.
Antique box is not included. Listing is for the one ring with the others in the stack shown for color comparison and scale. Please note the dimensions as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to tell scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/2 . It weighs 4.6 grams. The ring face 19x11mm and 5.7mm tall. The emerald is about 8x6mm.
The larger diamonds are about 4.2 & 4.5mm and are each about .35 carat as the slightly smaller one is deeper / chunkier. The ten smaller diamonds are 1.9 to 2.2mm each. I would not remove the stones but just using estimates it is about 1.1 carat total weight in diamonds. The additional carat weight of the emerald is exact, certified and stated above. Total diamond and gemstone weight combined being 2.5 carats.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition.
The emerald has a lovely sheen and polish, sometimes antique emeralds have a matte finish from abrasions but this one still has a nice polish to the table and side facets with just a few small table facet abrasions. Nothing glaring at all but they can catch the light if you are seeking them out, it appears better than expected considering age of over 125 years. Natural inclusions as expected. There is one small circular chip, flake of loss right next to one prong, may have been done when the stone was removed for testing. It also moves in the prongs slightly, again probably from having been removed and reset, which was done before I acquired it, but the prongs well surround it with no risk of loss.
A worn prong here or there to the diamonds but again all are well surrounded. The diamonds are of good quality with the largest two being eye clean, some faint frosty natural inclusions to the smaller diamonds but again nothing glaring. No dark carbon. One of the smaller stones has an indented natural inclusion seen under magnification. One of the larger stones has a nibble to the girdle edge but it is not detectable to my eyes without magnification. Slighty varying hues with a slight bit of warmth but the stones are not dull or dingy in any way. Nice and sturdy shank, lovely considering its antique hallmark.
Wonderful color and sparkle in a popular design with the more scarce emerald center.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
