I am back from my inventory trip to Europe with quite a lot of antique treasures to share with you! I will be rolling out new pieces almost every week from now, all the way through the holidays. Please stay tuned and feel free to follow on Instagram!
ABOUT:
This one stopped me in my tracks when I saw it in the jewelry case - just such a unique form and design! It screams Art Deco, right off the pages of Great Gatsby with the fanned and flared diamond encrusted panels.
I can't speak for the designer and their intention but when we looked at it, both I and the dealer I purchased it from immediately thought "Butterfly!"
So we call this the butterfly ring! Gorgeous, low profile, uncommon, I've been wearing it a lot. The piece is set with a mix of old cut diamonds including old mines, transitional and old single cuts with the milgrain details for color and sparkle. It has a nice and sturdy hand feel! I already regret letting this one go as I'll not find another.
No hallmarks remain, sold to me as 14k gold and tested to confirm. Some areas test higher on the head so I think it might be topped in platinum.
Antique box / props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/4, a little over. The shank is sturdy but you'd want to discuss sizing with your local jeweler as opinions vary and with all the little stones set into the ring face, you'd want to avoid bending / splaying it open too much. Looks amazing as a pinky as well.
Ring face 13mm north south
Weight 4.6 grams.
The largest bezel set diamonds are 3.6mm. With 16 additional smaller stones from 1.5 to 2mm each. Around 3/4 carat total weight in diamonds just estimating / 0.75ctw.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions, small specks and frosty spots but no dark or glaring carbon, anything very slightly eye visible as the stones aren't huge. Slight warmth varying from stone to stone under magnification. The setting looks good, all stones well surrounded and bezels in good shape. Inside of the ring face is a bit blunt. It's fine when on but I noticed it rubbing against my finger when taking it on and off if worn tightly. Just how it was made.
Love love love!
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
