ABOUT:
Gah, the combinations! I really enjoyed mixing and matching this one with other pieces - so fun!!!! This French vintage chevron ring is actually quite lovely to wear alone, chunky and substantial enough, certainly, with its weight of 8.5 grams. So many diamond facets to catch the light and emit the sparkle. I'd admiring it as I wear it now.
But I also had so much fun putting it in a mixed metals stack with a chunky yellow gold donut band below it, this ring appearing above like a little crown! Then I paired it with a diamond eternity band in yellow gold, it also looks great with white gold or platinum bands. And Then I decided to nest in a solitaire to sit in that little space in the V. I mean stack it up, amirite?
With a mix of baguette and brilliant cut diamonds, this one measures around 1 1/2 carat total weight. It has graduating sized baguette diamonds, channel set as one row, stacked in next to a row of brilliant cut diamonds with a scalloped edge adding a little ornateness. A fun contrast of geometry and delicacy on the same piece. The baguette diamonds, being part of the step cut method of cutting, creates that hall of mirrors effect and are crystal clear. Found in Paris, it is crafted in platinum with the French hallmark on the outside of the shank and the numerical platinum hallmark inside.
The majority of my pieces are older antiques but I source what I love and would wear and really enjoy this one. : )
Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is about a size 5 1/4, a little over.
About sizing: Most rings can be sized to an extent, usually they say 2 sizes is a good guide. For this one, I do think it would be best to discuss with your local jeweler doing the work. With the channel setting, they could best determine to what extent they would feel comfortable adjusting.
This is not a fragile or delicate piece, it is super sturdy and substantial.
The baguettes measure 2.8x1.5mm for the smallest at the ends and 4x2mm for the largest at the center. The round brilliants are 1.6 to 2.5mm each. I can not get accurate depth measurements on the stones while set and I would not remove them but estimates to around 1.5 carat total weight in diamonds.
The piece weighs 8.5 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Very fine quality piece with heavy / sturdy hand feel. The diamonds are in great condition with no nibbles, nicks or chips and they all have an excellent clarity, VS with nothing glaring even under strong magnification. The baguettes are exceptionally clear. Seems like it was rarely worn.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come.
But of course as it is preowned I always leave a disclaimer - Due to age, this is not a mint condition / brand new item. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
