ABOUT:
Personal collection release - as much as I wish, I can't keep allllll the colored old cut diamonds I find : )
If you follow me, you know that I love all old cut diamonds, even those with quirks and imperfections, but I especially love the ones with hues. All antique diamonds are special having been cut in much more limited supply long before the mass produced modern machine cut stones. Finding them in colors makes them even more scarce and sought after. As is the case with this ring where the center stone is a beautiful chocolate colored chunky old mine cut diamond. It is flanked on each side by a white / colorless old mine cut for a fun contrast. The three stones are uniform in size with the center being a chunkier cut - wonderful color and sparkle with a total carat weight of about 1.65 carats in antique diamonds.
The setting makes it a great stacker with the wide band holding the three stones on a bit of raised but still curved and comfortable platform.
Found in Paris, this French made piece bears their hallmark for 18k gold with a goldsmith stamp.
The flat edges make it a great stacker next to other bands. This one adds a lovely sparkle and contrast of color when mixed with white diamond bands in a ring stack.
Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4.
The band is 6mm north south. About 4.5mm off the finger with a nice dome. Weight is a sturdy 5.7grams.
Each stone is just under 5mm, about 4.9mm. The colorless / white diamonds each measure a little over half a carat. The chocolate diamond is a chunkier cut, facing up about the same size to the eye but with a higher crown and deeper pavilion, measures 0.6 carat alone. Total carat weight for the three stones is 1.65 carat estimated. I do not remove stones from antique settings for exact measurements.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
One of the end diamonds has a carbon spot that is eye visible. I never noticed it while wearing but you can pick it out with the eye when looking for it. The chocolate diamonds has some small crystal inclusions and a linear needle across the table, these are seen more under magnification and are only slightly eye visible when they catch direct light. The other end diamond has a smattering of tiny carbon specks very slightly eye visible but again mostly under magnification.
A worn prong here or there as commonly found on pieces of this age. Something to keep an eye on over time and consider gentler wear. Would be easy to fortify the little bead prongs if desired for more regular wear, but many of my customers are collectors that prefer original condition and occasional wear. I pretty much always recommend occasional wear on my pieces over 100 years old. One stone moves slightly in the bead prongs. I have been wearing it these last few years without issue. A few rub marks on the vertical edges from stacking.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
