Chunky .6 Carat Old Mine Cut Diamond Buttercup Gypsy Band Glowing 18k Gold Ring Glowing Stacker Wide Band Unisex
ABOUT:
Sleek and glowing, 18k gold setting props up a chunky old mine cut diamond. I love how it is suspended in prongs to be viewed from all sides. This chunky stone measures around .6 carat with a wonderful fire and clarity for an antique stone. And it is a sturdy piece ready for regular wear with a quality hand feel!
The domed gold work is gorgeous and buttery from the wonderful antique patina.
The gypsy ring was incredibly popular during the Victorian era into the early 1900s and its timeless design remains an ever favored and wearable choice for today. This ring is substantial enough to wear alone but also layers well with other pieces. Rings such as this were also a popular choice for men to wear during this period as well so it is a true unisex ring.
Found in Paris with the French hallmark for 18k.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 3/4
Diamond: The old mine cut is about 5mm and a Chunky cut, measuring around 0.6 carat.
Ring face: 9mm north south
Height off finger: 5mm tall.
Weight: 7.6g.
CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is in great condition with no nicks or nibbles but it does have two indented natural inclusions in the same area on one side. These are slightly eye visible as they can catch the light, the diamond is otherwise eye clean. GIA defines these as a dent that occurs under the surface of a diamond as a result of the diamond cutter's decision not to polish it off, because doing so could end up harming the diamond so the cutters would work around it - this is not considered a defect or blemish but under strong magnification it looks like a frosty speck. One prong is worn but the rest hold the stone securely.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
