ABOUT:
Ah the delight of sliding a chunky comfort fit antique band onto the finger. I just love a good comfort fit with softened / rounded edges so that it just glides on.

This antique Edwardian era piece is hallmarked for the year 1916 and is crafted in glowing 22k gold. At center is a .36 carat eye clean old mine cut diamond raised in prongs.

To be honest, I'm not sure if the piece was always made this way or if the diamond in prong setting was added to a wedding band. As all components are antique, it's also possible it was custom made. This sturdy one layers perfectly with other bands including diamond half hoops / eternities.

Found in the UK with their hallmarks for London, 22k, date stamp 1916.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 6 1/4, a little over. It weighs a sturdy 6.1 grams.
The diamond is about 4.5mm, measuring about 0.36 carat. Exact depth is not able to be measured in the setting and I would never remove it from the antique setting for exact weight so this is an estimate.
The ring face stands 5.6mm tall off the finger. The band is about 4mm north south and very thick.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

This one needs gentle wear as many of the prongs are very worn. One is excellent, four are worn but still holding stable on each side of the stone and three are completely worn back. Of course reinforcement is always possible by your local jeweler but most of my buyers prefer original condition and gentler wear. If preferred for daily wear, you'd want to find someone with a laser welder.

The stone has some faint natural inclusions but only slightly eye visible. There is a linear indented natural illusion on one side - this is the only one that is really slightly eye visible if you are seeking it out, and then there a natural inclusion at the girdle not seen while wearing.

Some rub marks to the vertical edges, the prongs / basket from it being stacked.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
