ABOUT:
Timeless antique diamond pendant with a chunky .6 carat prong set old old mine cut diamond. Crafted in 18k white gold & platinum (tested, no hallmarks remain). Nice, bright and fiery eye clean (!) antique diamond in a timeless and classic setting. The frame of the setting serves as an illusion setting to make the diamond appear even larger (by surrounding the white stone with a white metal), while also giving it a lovely design element.
A great geometric look - perfect to dress up or down. French piece with antique 1800s diamond, the bale style though appears more retro vintage.
Prongs are good so it is ready for regular wear!
Antique box / props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
The diamond is about 4.9mm, totaling around 0.6carat. I do not remove stones from the settings for exact measurements so this is an estimate.
The pendant is 17mm to the top of the dangling bale by 7.6mm wide. It is 4.2mm deep. The pendant weighs 1.15 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Very nice sparkle and fire to the diamond that is eye clean with a little needle inclusion and a tiny carbon speck seen only under strong magnification with a few other crystal specks, again not seen by the eye. An indented natural inclusion at the girdle which is also rough having been hand cut, again seen under magnification. It is brighter white in color than many of the antique diamonds that we see, having been cut from mines that typically produced warmer stones.
No damage. The prongs are excellent. Ready for regular wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
