ABOUT:
A retro vintage wide band ring with center emerald flanked by rows of channel set baguette diamonds on each side. All stones natural with the loveliest color and sparkle amidst the domed glowing 18k gold setting.
The emerald is in good condition too (we often find vintage pieces where the emerald is scuffed and abraided but this one has a nice sheen overall). It is raised slightly in a demi bezel setting to stand out amidst the diamonds which are set into the shoulders for glitter.
The emerald is natural and quite obviously so, but I do not know origin or treatment. My items do well without paperwork so I sell them based on what I paid vs. taking them apart to send for testing.
Found in Europe. It looks like there is a little symbol hallmark inside but I can't make it out. Sold to me from a reputable source at 18k gold and tested to confirm.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included although I'll find a fun vintage box to include with it from my personal collection.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 8 1/4,
The ring face is 10.5mm north to south tapering towards the back and stands 5.1mm off the finger. It weighs 6 grams. The ten diamonds taper slightly, measuring 1.4 by 2.1mm to 1.7x3.1mm. The emerald is about 7.8x5.7mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. The emerald is in good condition in that it does not have a matte finish from scuffs and scratches, rather it has a lovely sheen and polish and inner glow. There are natural inclusions, some quite frosty / cloudy areas and there are areas where these inclusions carry up to the surface leaving a little a little crease at a few points of the facets seen only under strong and lit magnification. All things one would expect to see on a vintage pre-owned emerald. The stone is super stable, very well set, the piece is very sturdy. Two of the diamonds have small speck inclusions, one being a bit milky under magnification but nothing glaring to the eye. The tiniest carbon speck to one not eye visible. One of the end diamonds has a chip to one corner but is nestled within the channel setting and appears complete in form unless seeking it out. Nothing stands out. Some surface wear to the gold. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings, including the trees outside the window. Fun one to wear and stack with the best geometry!
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
