ABOUT:

Sweet antique cluster ring with center old mine cut diamond raised in gold prongs surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds. Fun to see the combination of two old cutting methods to the diamonds. Some of the rose cuts are more triangular in shape.

This one has the added drama of some height to the ring face, where the cluster is built up above a banded and filigree lattice gallery to prop the diamonds up taller. Fun to stack! Please see measurements to help visualize as I am required to show detailed / zoom photos in the listing.

This one is unique also in that it is all gold. Usually during the period we see the ring face topped in a white precious metal as that was customary for the period. But this one is all gold.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold. The shank has a lovely warm, rosy hue.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

Ring face north south measurement: 10mm
Height off the finger: 8.5mm

The old mine cut is about 4.
The rose cut diamonds each measure about 2.4mm give or take.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The center stone is eye clean, a lovely chunky old mine cushion cut. The center prongs are in excellent condition.
The rose cuts definitely have a more antique look. : ) Typical antique diamonds with frosty natural inclusions, rough cuts, irregular forms, they add a nice glint of sparkle, one or two appear quite frosty throughout, two have some loss with some chips and flakes but they appear mostly complete to the eye in the setting. There are some gaps, one here or there, between the edges of the rose cuts and the bezel so typical gentler wear due to age. Some of this is due to the more triangular shaped rose cuts being set in rounder settings. Other gaps are from the bit of loss to the rough cut stones. Very unique and pretty ring!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
