CRUCIFORM Blue OPAL Rose Cut Diamond Accents French Belle Epoque 18k Rose Gold Ring Glowing Stacker Victorian

I love a good blue opal and this is a lovely one with cruciform shape due to the little rose cut diamond accents at each side. Opal has a better than most color, iridescence and especially condition where it still has a sheen and polish. It faces up a gorgeous blue with flecks of green and a noticeable flash of pink when viewed at an angle. A special stone! This this all original French antique reads as rose gold, although not the vibrant pink gold of today, rather with a softer patina.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4.

The ring face is 13mm north south. The opal is 8x5.5mm.
The ring weight is 2.2 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some tiny nicks under magnification to the opal but less wear than we typically see. Typical antique rose cuts, free form rough cut little discs just meant to add a glint of sparkle. Some frostiness and gray hues to them, much of which is from build up to the small openings behind the stones.

Evidence of a sizing to the back where there is a tiny seam not visible while wearing.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
