DAISY Large Scale ANTIQUE Figural Double Flower FRENCH Floral Ring 18k Gold Belle Epoque Romantic Gift Antique Art Nouveau Leaf Band

This French antique ring reminds me of the old practice of reciting the above while plucking petals off the daisy.

This one is a little work of art, hand made and appears almost sculpted. Fun and romantic figural Art Nouveau flower ring with beautiful detail and movement, the leaf design continuing all the way around to the back of the shank. Wonderful glowing, buttery 18k gold. Great lifelike design in a striking size. Appears hand made with the chiseling to the low relief areas of the flower details revealing a gorgeous satin texture to the gold. This contrasts with the higher shine raised areas - so beautiful to find French antique gold made in this way.

Found in France from their Belle Epoque period, with French hallmarks for 18k gold on the back and a goldsmith stamp.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 8 3/4. The hallmarks at the back of the shank are off center so it could be possible to remove a few leaves and try to blend the pattern, but that would be best to discuss with your local goldsmith who would be doing the work as opinions vary when it comes to modern jewelers working on antiques.

The ring face is about 23mm north to south by 14mm across the finger when you measure just the flower part. It perches off the finger at 3.2mm. Weight is a very sturdy 8.05 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Surface wear as expected for age but still very legible. The edges of the leaves come to a point and are a bit blunt, this is how it was intentionally designed but it is of course not as smooth as wearing a plain band. No real condition issues at all. Super sturdy and positively glows. A small area of fabrication marks inside the ring face but this occurred when it was made and is not visible while wearing.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
