DATED 1918 ROSES of France Antique PENDANT Victorian 18k Gold Solid French Belle Epoque

ABOUT:

A sturdy solid gold antique pendant from the Belle Epoque period. It has lifelike details of rose flowers on the front and reads "Roses de France". May have been a love token or souvenir. It is dated on the back in French for January 1, 1918 with ornate engraved initials "EJ? ET? EF"?

These French medals are always very collectible and fun to find when they are dated. This one is much sturdier than many I have had weighing 4.7 grams so a nice thickness of solid gold. A faint French hallmark for 18k gold remains on the loop.

Dimensions: 24x20mm including the attached loop

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The loop is worn thing from rubbing against a chain for 100 years but it is not broken through and is still wearable, you just wouldn't want it to get pulled on. It is also a bit bent but since it is thin, I didn't want to attempt to bend it and risk breaking the gold. Your local jeweler could easily fortify this as well if desired.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
