ABOUT:
That half daisy / sunflower that is engraved largely into this domed band is what drew me to it when I saw it in the shop window in Spain. The sweet floral details then morph into additional swirling details.
Very much in the antique / Victorian style, it is engraved inside: "M.D. á M.F. 5.6.60" for June 5, 1960, as they put the day before the month in Europe. I am claiming this as vintage, 1960 even though the design and the font of the engraving is very much like the antiques we know and love. It just looks a bit too crisp, too thick and too sturdy to be 1860 in my opinion. This is one of my favorite engraved bands that I have sourced when it comes to the gorgeous design.
No hallmarks remain but sold to me as 18k which is the standard there and tested to confirm. It has a beautiful, slightly rosy warmth to it from age and patina.
Beautiful to stack, also interesting worn alone.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 8
5mm north south and 1.5mm deep.
It weighs 4.7 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some surface wear but beautiful, legible, lovely to wear. In excellent vintage condition.
