DRAGON 3D French Antique Victorian 18k Gold Solid Rose Cut DIAMOND Figural Flying Pendant Belle Epoque Necklace Bracelet Charm Chimera

Amazing detail and movement to this flying dragon / chimera with rose cut diamond in his mouth.
I got this one while shopping with an Instagram pal in Milan, Italy, but it is actually French in origin.

And my friends at Collins Family jewelers (who did the conversion for me) were actually able to preserve (!) the French 18k gold hallmark from the portion of the pin post from the original pin, that they used to make the loop / bale / jump ring. Hooray!

Oh those clever Victorians and their wonderful, whimsical figural jewelry! Thank heavens for them! This stock drop (see group pic) was over a year in the making as it took me quite some time to find, collect and assemble some of these hard to find antique figural pieces, one single piece at a time from all over the world. Listing is for the one piece in the cover. I love figural, celestial, animal, dragon, and letter jewelry so something for everyone in here! These all came from broken earrings or stick pins that were converted for wear as a pendant or bracelet charm. Fun to layer, mix and match - many scarce or one of a kind! Pretty please note the measurements as they are dainty but rare.

Also nice to find them in great condition as they were more gently worn compared to pendants and rings that were more heavily worn over the last 150 years.

Highest quality antique Belle Epoque / Art Nouveau French solid 18k gold. The dragon and chimera image was a popular motif for the late 1800s to early 1900s period. These fantastical beasts were considered symbols of wealth and power, and worn as talismans for protection or amulets for good luck.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person. They are always smaller in real life than they appear in photos due to the zoom photos I am required to show.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Signs on the back of the conversion but in great condition with wonderful patina. Very legible.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
