ABOUT:

So bright and sparkly! I got this ornate beauty on my recent inventory trip to Sweden. This is a nice one to dress up or down as it has some ornateness with the scalloped face but also has a versatile figure 8 chain link around the back so it isn't over the top. It has about 2 1/4 carats of old cut stones - old mine and European cuts for the larger stones, and old single cut stones for the smaller accent stones in the scalloped designs. Beautiful milgrain details around each bezel and around the outline of the piece. Openwork design between the half moon shaped diamond settings allows light to pass through for wonderful sparkle.

Very nice condition to this Edwardian period bracelet in 18k gold. It is stamped at the back of the clasp for 18k. The face of the bracelet and a thin layer at the top of each link is topped in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal so this one is really perfect in any color or mixed metal stack since it has both tones. with no real ripples or deep dings and a very sturdy and firm hinge with a nice and tight, clicky clasp with safety chain.

No chips to any of the stones so it is better than most condition for age. The stones are bright and lively, many being eye clean.

Any props or additional items not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

MEASUREMENTS:

Abut 6 1/2 inches in length, not including the tongue insert which nests into the clasp and thereby does not add length. I have a 5.5 inch wrist and it is too big for me to where the face of the bracelet spins around, but I it doesn't fall off without opening the latch so it's pretty close, fitting better on a wrist larger than mine.

The face of the bracelet is 12mm north south at the widest and stands 5.2mm tall off the wrist, give or take to the raised diamonds in the bezel settings.

It weighs 10.95 grams.

The largest center diamond is about 4.7mm and about half a carat. The flanking two stones are 4.2mm and about .3 carat each, the next two are 3.5mm and the end stones are 3mm. The line of seven larger diamonds estimates to about 1.7 carats total. The 14 additional diamonds in the scalloped details measure 2 to 2.5mm each. Varying depths and exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove them but estimates to about 2 1/4 carats total weight in diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The push button clasp works perfectly and snaps very securely into place.

Typical old cut diamonds with some slight, faint natural inclusions but overall better than most for the period when it comes to clarity. Also overall well matching. None appear dingy or lifeless and the piece as a whole is fiery with amazing glitter factor. This was made long before the "Four C's" scale was invented for modern machine cut diamonds with their mathematically perfected facets. The modern grading scale for diamonds doesn't typical do justice to the uniqueness of these stones that were hand cut with methods and standards no longer practiced. But I will pass along the info given to me of I to K in color, VS to SI in clarity.

Many of them are eye clean. No large dark or glaring carbon spots. None of the diamonds are chipped or cracked with loss - they all fill the bezels and have retained their original shape.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
