Size: 9
Era: Victorian (1837-1901) Art Nouveau

ABOUT:

This French Belle Epoque era ring has the perfect patina, lovely gem color and sparkle, and an ornate closed back design with a sturdy hand feel. Early 1900s piece from Paris in 18k gold topped in silver as was customary for the time to set the diamonds in a white metal. There is a natural emerald in the center and rubies at the top and bottom which are set in contrasting yellow gold bezels. The ring face is set with around 70 rose cut diamonds of varying sizes, giving the piece a wonderful glitter.

It has a nice size footprint on the finger (1.3 inch top to bottom).

Rich, warm patina to the buttery gold with rosy highlights, with a great antique ornate look, color and sparkle.

Antique box not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 9, the ring face is 28mm top to bottom (so it is 1.1 inch) by 14mm wide at the widest. The emerald is 6x4mm. It weighs 6.5 grams. The rose cuts are 0.5 to 1mm each.   Exact depths vary but with so many of them it is estimated around 2 carats total weight in diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. There is a nibble to one side of the emerald leaving a minuscule gap between the emerald and the bezel seen mostly under magnification. I also just noticed one tiny rose cut is missing but again, it is honestly not visible to the eye because of the patina to the silver and it being in the shadow of the raised bezel of the emerald. Natural inclusions to the gemstones. These are typical old rose cut diamonds, cut by hand so they have the beautifully irregular antique look to them. Some warm hues or grayish tones from patina to the old setting. Some nicks or a tiny frosty / unpolished area here and there to the old cut diamonds, some from age and wear or possibly just always cut that way. But to the eye they add a nice sparkle and antique look. Uniform surface wear. It is such an interesting piece, fun to wear and stack. Never seen another like it.

But as with all my estate pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item.

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
