ABOUT:
A striking natural green emerald panel ring with an oval face and flared shoulders set with diamonds. The piece is crafted in platinum. The stones are a mix of older brilliant cuts a few transitional cuts, likely dating to the late Art Deco period. Striking green color with the sparkle of 20 diamonds around the halo and shoulders with some openwork details to give the ring face a nice geometry.
Faint stamp "PLAT" for platinum remains inside.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 7 slightly over
The ring face is 16mm north south.
Weight: 4.5 grams.
The emerald is 6.8x5.2mm
Each of the 20 diamonds are each 1.6mm to 2.3mm somewhere around half a carat total weight? This is an estimate as I would not remove the stone from the setting for exact measurements and the exact depth of each is not measurable in the setting.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Better than most condition to the emerald with very little surface wear. It does have some natural eye visible inclusions as can be seen in the photos but a vibrant color and inner glow, it is not overall milky.
Just slightly different hues to some of the diamonds but no eye visible glaring inclusions and overall well matching with a lively sparkle.
No chips, loose stones, etc, the milgrain detail is still crisp and it is in very nice condition.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
