Here's an impactful one that is shining, shimmering... splendid (sorry, I couldn't resist. Enjoy having Aladdin music stuck in your head now, if you know it sing it out! : )
This French chain is an older vintage one to possibly late antique period. The French don't use dated marks but it is hallmarked more in the style of the antique pieces I've had than in the more recent versions so it is guaranteed vintage at least.
This impactful chain weighs over 27 grams of solid 18k gold with a graduating foxtail like link that gets quite large in the center creating an interwoven 3D box chain appearance. It moves beautifully to reflect the light and glow with all its buttery glory.
Several French hallmarks on the clasp, a goldsmith mark, a control mark, and two stamps for 18k gold indicating all parts are 18k solid gold.
The piece is in real/solid 18k gold - not plated or gold filled, although the links have vacant space inside them and a seam seen under magnification on the inside which is the common fabrication. Don't let that description fool you - It is super sturdy with no dings or dents or ripples and a very sturdy hand feel.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 27.3 grams.
Just under 17 1/4 inches in length.
The largest links are almost 10mm tapering down to 4.2mm at the back.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some surface wear, it was quite dirty when I got it so I gave it several long ultrasonic baths. It has a beautiful glow and shimmer. A few scuffs or surface wear under magnification only notable due to the shining mirrored finish, but it wears beautifully. No real damage and a super strong and clicky clasp with a safety latch so it's ready for regular wear, alone as it is substantial, or in a neckmess where it is sturdy enough to hang with a bunch of other pieces.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
