ABOUT:

The every day but very impactful stacker band - 2.4 carats worth of antique eye clean natural diamonds! I love this one!

This is another one I had wished to keep because it has so much going for it and I love stackable bands. This one has a higher carat weight than I can often find and acquire. The slightly elongated natural antique old mine cushion cut diamonds are nice and chunky, fun to view from the side to see those glorious lofty crowns. And as mentioned, they are eye clean which is a treat to find, especially in antique stones cut in much more limited supply compared to the millions of carats of modern machine cut stones produced each year now.

This is a French antique piece crafted in 18k white gold and platinum with their appropriate hallmarks. Found in France and it is ready for daily wear! We often see wear to prongs and settings on pieces with age but this one is sturdy and ready to go. I love it stacked with a yellow gold band and it layers well with other diamond bands, or pieces in white gold and platinum as well.

The five natural diamonds graduate in size slightly to splay gracefully across the top of the finger, their extra sturdy platinum prongs allowing the stones to pop up to catch the light. It has a wonderful fire and sparkle. With a nice bit of height makes it awesome to stack.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail. Antique box not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 8 1/2.
About 5mm tall off the finger. Weight is 3.75 grams.

The center diamond is about 5.9x5.5mm and about .7 carat, the flanking two about 5.2x4.9mm (.55 and .59 - both chunky but one being slightly deeper which gives it a higher carat weight) and the end stones about 4x3.8mm each / .25 & .3 carat). I do not remove stones from antique settings for exact measurements but estimates to about 2.4 carats tdw. The maker did an excellent job finding matching pairs of antique hand cut stones as they really appear identical to the eye in size.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The five stones are eye clean with only faint natural inclusions seen under magnification. The center stone has an indented natural inclusion on the table facet that appears as a tiny speck again not seen by the eye. It also has one spot of nibbles to the girdle where some light wear to the girdle has extended to two shallowest tiny flakes of loss to the surface edge leaving a frosty unpolished spot. One of these is not eye visible and the other very slightly eye visible only if you are seeking it out as it is tucked between prongs on the outside edge.

For the flanking stones, again both eye clean, one with a tiny needle and another with a tiny speck here or there, again under magnification.

And then the end stones again are eye clean. One has a tiny speck inclusion under magnification. The opposite end has no inclusions but an oval flake of loss to the outside corner. The stone appears complete in shape and full in the setting, it is just an oval shaped unpolished area on one edge to the top surface / outside crown facet which appears more as a difference in texture than anything else. Even that is barely eye visible if you are seeking it out, it is not visible to my eyes which are in their forties : )

So overall better than most antique diamonds especially in terms of clarity. Some varying warmth, the largest center stone slightly warmer than the others. This is partly because most of the rough diamonds at that time came from mines that produced warmer-colored diamonds. They do face up brighter so the piece is not dull or lifeless in any way. It's pretty fabulous! Ready to wear!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
