ABOUT:

One of my most popular styles to source - the wonderfully stackable five stone band.

This one is uncommon and special with the contrast of the fabulous center diamond - a 1.15 carat antique fancy brown cognac old mine cut. It is flanked by two additional antique old mine cut diamonds with a transitional cut diamond on each end totaling around three carats total weight in diamonds.

The three old mine cuts are older than the piece itself, often times a case where the stones from granny's heirloom piece are repurposed into a vintage setting. It is crafted in 18k white gold with the bonus of extra sturdy prongs making this one ready for daily wear.

It is wonderful to stack as it has a nice height off the finger with the chunky diamonds and their awesome two tone coloring. It would make a fine anniversary ring or even engagement ring to stack next to a wedding band as well. Layers well with other pieces but substantial enough at three carats to wear alone too!

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It is a size 7. It weighs 3.7 grams.

I would not remove the diamonds from the setting for exact measurements, but these are the measurements provided to me when I purchased the piece, which I double checked as well.
The center brown diamond is around a 7.2mm cushion cut, around 1.15 carat.
The flanking two old mine cut diamonds are about 5mm and around half a carat each (one sightly over and one just slightly under due to varying depths).
The transitional cuts on each end are about 4.5mm and about .4 carat each.
Total carat weight estimates to around 3 carats.

The ring face splays 23mm east west on the finger from diamond to diamond and it stands 4.7mm tall off the finger. North south measurement with the diamonds set in the prongs is about 8mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Typical antique diamonds in that they have some natural inclusions. The center cognac stone is almost eye clean but for two crystal speck inclusions, one on the culet and one below the table. These can sometimes catch the light making them very slightly eye visible. For the flanking old mine cuts, one is eye clean and one has a very slightly eye visible tiny carbon spot. These two stones also display a slight warmth typical for the period. The end transitional cut stones also have light inclusions, one slightly eye visible and the other is eye visible with an overall translucence, slightly cloudy / milky hue. That stone is still very sparkly like the others and not dull or lifeless in any way but something to note as this is eye visible when you study the end stone. The center stone has some nibbles to the girdle which carry up just slightly over the top edge in one area but this is not eye visible unless you are seeking it out, it appears more as a rough girdle edge as we often see in antique stones when girdles were unpolished. No other nibbles to note and no cracks or chips or damage. Really fun to wear with the differences in hues and cuts which we love to find as antique diamonds' quirks and one of a kind eccentricities are part of their charm.

Shank is sturdy and it is ready for daily wear with excellent prongs.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
