I am selling an assortment of antique jewelry which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Please see my other offerings - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
A bright and sparkly five stone diamond band from the Art Deco period. This older vintage ring is the ever popular stackable style with the five old cut diamonds totaling about
The stones are a mix of old mine cut and transitional cuts, may have been a case where some family diamonds were used and then the transitional cuts filled in the rest. Nice to see that despite the variations in cut, they appear well matching to the eye and it's beautiful to wear.
Found in Paris on my last inventory sourcing trip to France with their hallmarks, it is crafted in 18k white gold with the ring face in platinum. With sturdy prongs ready for daily wear which is always a joy to find!
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5.
The largest center old mine cut diamond is 5.2x4.9mm and about .58 carat. The next pair are 3.5mm and the end stones are 3.2mm each. I would not remove them for an exact weight but estimates to about 1.2 carat total weight in diamonds.
Stands 3.7mm off the finger, 1.3mm east west for all five diamonds.
It weighs 2.6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Prongs are excellent and sturdy, ready for wear. Brighter white color / colorless hue to the diamonds compared to many from this period. The largest center stone and one flanking it are eye clean with just a few faint frosty inclusions seen only under strong magnification. The three other stones have some faint natural inclusions, one end stone has a small carbon spot slightly eye visible if seeking it out but not large, glaring or inky. The end stones read a a bit frosty under magnification from reflecting their large frosted girdle, a trademark of old cut stones but again this is really studying each stone and seeking things out. While wearing, it is well matching, sparkly, bright and beautiful as seen in the images taken in various lighting conditions.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
