ABOUT:
A chunky antique diamond solitaire ring. I love the little floral details on the vertical edges of the ring face. These are accented by double teardrop details at each shoulder.
Unique cut to the stone, it is a chunky old mine cut but they managed to chisel it to where there is no open culet. So it actually appears similar to a transitional cut but with the higher crown / chunkier cut of the old mine cut. Lovely warmth to the stone typical for the period that reads the prettiest pale yellow in some light and then faces up brighter in others.
All original antique with a distinctive and uncommon design, with old hallmarks inside including 18k and some other symbols I am not familiar with.
Antique box / props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/2, a little over.
Weight a sturdy 4.6 grams
9mm north south
5.9mm tall off the finger.
The diamond is 5mm and about half a carat, I would not remove it from the setting for exact measurements.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Pretty coloring and original antique patina. The stone has some needle inclusions that are not really eye visible and one linear crystal inclusion that can catch the light and be eye visible at some angles. A little wear to the prongs but the stone is still well held, this is something to keep an eye on over time.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
