ABOUT:
Beautiful Victorian era antique 18k solid gold clasp pendant. Back in that era, these decorative clasps were worn towards the front as a pendant. It has a loop on each end and could be used now as a pendant or bracelet element with a chain added to each side.
Intricate enamel details on the reversible piece - with colors of blue, orange, white and green. One side depicts a flower basket and the other a starburst design.
I found this in England but I think it is Iberian in origin. I have seen the symbol hallmark before but can't place it now. Both loops are stamped.
Chain, antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 1.35g. It is about 21x11mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some nicks and surface wear to the enamel but no loss to the underlying gold so the design is all complete, filled in with color where it should be, it is still very legible. The piece is in good working condition with the clasp tight and secure making a nice click. Uniform surface wear from age but fantastic to wear. Scarce and interesting piece in solid gold. Note the small loops which each held a chain - they are too small to run a chain through so the buyer would have to incorporate some jump rings or a bale that opens to connect to the piece.
