FLORAL Large Georgian Era Foiled Flat Cut GARNET Pendant Rose Cut Pear Teardrop 10k Gold Glowing Purple Red Necklace
FLORAL Large Georgian Era Foiled Flat Cut GARNET Pendant Rose Cut Pear Teardrop 10k Gold Glowing Purple Red Necklace
ABOUT:
Love the color to these antique garnets - this Georgian era pendant is set with flat cut round and large pear / teardrop garnets in cut down gold collets. Gorgeous colors of pinkish purplish red, but all nicely matching. The color is like a juicy berry or grape. Set with foil back settings to really glow and reflect the light from within. And their surfaces are glossy and shiny - very nicely polished.
There is also a pin back for wear a brooch if desired but those parts could easily be nipped off as the pendant components are already there. I didn't want to remove in case someone liked the versatility of its double duty.
No hallmarks remain but tests as 10k - the larger jump ring is later and is gold filled.
MEASUREMENTS:
The pendant is 28mm not including the jump ring. The pendant weighs 6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
One of the pears is chipped at the tip on the inside, I did not even notice this until really studying it because it is tucked under the center round garnet at the middle of the flower. All sides of the stone are still held securely in the bezel, but please seek that out in the photos, especially the zoomed one which, using the zoom feature will magnify it 20 times what is seen by the eye. One other very small circular chip and some nibbles but we don't really see any of the surface abrasions we often see on a piece of this age - they have a gorgeous sheen and polish over all. Some natural inclusions to the garnets, wonderful colors and an awesome glow. There are a few spots of solder on the back in the connecting areas but the back has a vibrant rich yellow gold vermeil with the 10k tested rose gold underneath.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Thanks so much for looking at my items!
