ABOUT:
Swoon for Belle Epoque jewelry! I got this in Europe but knew right away it was French. The floral bouquet of forget me nots in a tiara like setting is just so special and unique to the region.
The gold work is truly a work of art, amazing detail surrounding the bezel set natural aquamarine providing that gorgeous blue color associated with forget me nots. It can be worn facing either way with those beautiful little flowers on all sides of the pear / teardrop pale blue stone.
French hallmark for 18k with a goldsmith stamp. They are partial but still recognizable if familiar with them.
Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5. Stone is well set so it should be sizable to an extent and still able to avoid the hallmarks which are off to the side. Best to discuss with the person doing the work to determine their comfort level. 18.5mm north south at the ring face. It weighs 4.4g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some abrasions to the table and outlining facets of the aquamarine along with 2 nicks and some pebbled abrasions on the pointed area of the teardrop stone. The stone is full and complete in the setting so it could be considered surface wear as there are no real chips or loss to the surface or shape of the stone, but there are some matte finish areas from this wear. It is sturdy and well set.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
