ABOUT:
Unique and beautiful French antique multi chain bracelet in 18k gold with two bar slide ornaments set with diamonds. It has four dainty chains that are actually each doubled with interconnected links making a sort of figure 8 pattern. The two bar ornaments are fixed in place so while they look like slides, they do not move. At the center of each bar ornament is a larger old mine cut diamond set raised in a bezel with rose cut accents to each side for added sparkle.
It has a rich and warm patina in antique yellow gold that is just lovely and the multi chain fabrication gives it a wide footprint on the wrist. It has a wide push button clasp on the back and a dainty safety chain.
It's really wonderful to wear with the antique sparkle of the diamonds in a timeless linear setting. With all the chains it makes a nice cuff on the wrist, but with a still dainty feel from the intricacy of the chains. So elegant and beautiful, and quite unique compared to what can be found on the market.
Antique piece from the Victorian period that I acquired in Paris, France. It is stamped on the latch with the French hallmark for 18k gold.

MEASUREMENTS:
It is about 7 1/2 inches around with a tape measure wrapped around the outside, and opens to slide over a larger wrist, but I could not stretch it end to end with the safety chain of course. But it would likely fit smaller than a 7 1/2 if one was able to measure the distance around the inside. I have a 5 1/2 wrist and it is too small for me, I can slide it on without opening it and it would look better on a wider wrist because the bar ornaments would appear on the top. I could probably make it work in a wrist stack but it would fit better for a larger wrist than mine so the ornaments don't spin to the bottom.
It weighs a very sturdy 20.5 grams. The slides are 19mm by 4.5mm so the 19mm is about the north south width on the wrist. Each old mine cut is 4.2mm (.35 carat each?) and the rose cuts are about 2mm each give or take. Exact depths of each are unknown as the bars have a closed back and I would never remove them for exact carat weight but estimates to around 1.25 carat total weight in diamonds.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some warmth to gray and frostiness to the diamonds because they are in a closed back setting but they do not appear muddy nor lifeless. Some natural inclusions typical for antique diamonds that are slightly eye visible and the textbook rougher cut rose cuts. Some areas of dark patina in a few spots of the chain and a slight ripple here or there but no welds or repairs. It is beautiful to wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
