French Antique 1.3 Carat Old Mine Transitional Cut DIAMOND Daisy Cluster Dangle Earrings 18k Gold Platinum

ABOUT:
Elegant diamond daisy cluster earrings, each set with 15 old cut diamonds - the diamonds in each cluster are transitional cut, the diamonds in the line are old single cuts with the top diamond on each an old mine cut. Wow the sparkle of the old cut diamonds - almost blinding in the sun! I'm in heaven. They are also eye clean with a bright white color and an excellent fire - so really lovely stones. The fabrication is also excellent with all the diamond parts moveable to catch the light and dangle with beautiful movement.

Excellently sturdy alpa style push backs (that function perfectly) hold a line of six diamonds set in milgrain bezels. This leads down to the daisy clusters which are also attached by a loop to dangle freely. The clusters are also accented with milgrain details and the classic scalloped daisy shape. The diamond settings of the earrings are crafted in platinum with the ear posts and alpa push backs crafted in 18k gold.

So bright and sparkly with a timeless design and still an eye catching antique look. They are special. Found in Paris. French hallmarks for 18k and platinum on each ear post along with the 18k stamp on the push backs.

The push backs are the Alpa style with the push buttons to secure them at the end of the earring post. They are spring loaded with little “buttons” on each side so you squeeze the push back to click it into the little notches in the ear post. Note that the push backs have a closed back so you cannot run them through all the way to the back of the earring. This is intentional, the depth from the back of the earring to the push back is about 5mm.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers draw them out to hold against the person to determine how they wear. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:

Top of ear post to bottom of each is 26mm. Each round cluster is 9mm east west. The pair weighs 5 grams.

The center diamonds are 3.2mm. The eight diamonds in the halo they are about 2mm each. In the line of stones, the largest top diamond is 3mm, with the five others about 1.8mm. Exact carat weight is not known as I would never remove them but estimates to 1.3 carat total weight in diamonds for the pair, which aligns with the measurements given when I purchased them in Paris.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Note that the ear posts have a nice and sturdy gauge - something to note if you have the tiniest of ear holes. : ). I also noticed while the backs do click into place, one of them can be pulled off without pushing the buttons, while the other locks in and cannot be removed without pushing the buttons. They are both sturdy though, requiring as much pressure as any other push backs of any other earrings to remove.

All original condition. No repairs. Diamonds are eye clean, bright white and have an excellent sparkle and fire, especially for antique pieces.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
