ABOUT:
Beautiful movement to this French antique diamond ring. At center is an old mine cut diamond in a pronged setting. The shank is designed in a bypass setting where each shoulder of the ring swirls up and around on each side and is set with rose cut diamonds for additional sparkle. Such a unique and pretty design! This would be a lovely engagement ring or diamond stacker band.
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold and a goldsmith stamp.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Weight 2.45g
The ring face is 9.3mm north south and stands about 5.2mm tall off the finger.
The diamond is about 5.4mm in diameter and measures about .55 carat alone. This is an estimate as I would not remove it for exact weight. The six additional rose cuts are small for a glint of sparkle.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Lovely slight warmth to the stone typical for antique diamonds that came from mines during a period that produced warmer rough. It has inclusions on one side - linear leading to a crystal formation. No dark carbon and it does not cross the center of the stone, rather it runs along one side and is slightly eye visible becoming more evident when it catches the light. This one has a very large frosted girdle, the frost there being appropriate for age (we'd have concerns about authenticity if it were polished). One prong is worn back and another shows some wear but the center stone is well surrounded and secure. Shank is a bit thin at the back from age and wear.
Please also note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
