ABOUT:
Good heavens my hands were dry in these photos, my apologies! Midwest winters, amirite? ; )

At least 2.7 carats (see notes below) glittery old mine cut diamond eternity band. This is a French vintage piece crafted in 18k white gold with 18 old cuts set in sturdy prongs all the way around.

I took approximately one million photos with this one. Just the way that it's fabricated makes it such a fun, glittery band to layer with other bands and even solitaires! It adds glitter to layer with buttery yellow gold as well, with the added bonus of being ready for daily wear as each stone is held with four chunky prongs. Also nice to see that there are no cracked diamonds or major loss which we can sometimes see on eternity bands of this age when the ring comes into contact with surfaces on the palm side of the hand. Part of this is I think due to the fabrication where the sturdy prongs can bear the brunt of the wear, although some of the diamonds do have loftier crowns and can crop out of the ring face.

NOTE that the "divot" to the gold on the side of the shank is Not damage - it is the French hallmark strike for 18k gold so the piece is not damaged but intentionally marked on the vertical edge.

The prongs place a sort of square around each old mine cut diamond for a bit of geometry. With the interesting fabrication on the side where the white gold slopes up at a beveled angle to catch the light and shimmer when viewed from the side. Amazing sparkle and eye catching impact with interest from any angle.

The perfect stacker, and also a beautiful worn alone.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 7, not sizable. It goes a little over on the ring sizer mandrel but the center of the band does not cross the 7 1/4 so it sits just over the 7 line. The band is 4.4mm wide north south with a depth of about 3mm. It weighs 5 grams.

Each of the 18 diamonds is about 3.2mm to 3.4mm, the majority landing right in the middle at 3.3mm. Varying depths to the stones as some crop out from the surface of the band. I would never remove them to ascertain exact carat weight but estimated around 2.7 carats / 2.7ctw in diamonds. I actually think it is upwards of that as some of the stones are a deeper cut taking their individual carat weight above the estimated .15 carat each, but I want to be conservative and over deliver since I didn't measure the depth of every single stone. If this is a deal breaker for you, do let me know and I can go ahead and measure every single stone but at the moment I'm trying to get it published before running to the grocery store, tee hee.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The hallmark strike is a little illegible but you can make out the edge of the owl under magnification and the visible oval cartouche. Typical antique diamonds, some eye clean, others with faint natural inclusions, I don't see any dark or inky carbon spots so nothing glaring in that regard. A few read a bit frosty reflecting through the stone but none really jump out, the majority just have a crystal here or there. A few with warm hues so the hues slightly varying. Considering it's a vintage one, it's in better condition than we often find, with really secure prongs and not a lot of damage. One diamond has a notch to one girdle edge, and another has a frosty triangular flake of loss to the surface. But with normal wear all the stones appear complete, round and fill the settings. Nice sparkle and very sturdy.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
