FRENCH Antique Carre Cut SAPPHIRE 26 Old Single Cut Diamond .75ctw FuLL ETERNiTY Band Ring 18k White Gold
FRENCH Antique Carre Cut SAPPHIRE 26 Old Single Cut Diamond .75ctw FuLL ETERNiTY Band Ring 18k White Gold
ABOUT:
Wonderful and sturdy linear full eternity band set with about 3/4 of a carat of old single cut / eight cut diamonds (26 in all) with a row of blue carre cut sapphires channel set above and below. This French Art Deco era piece is in 18k white gold.
When you see in the zoom pics some marks to the side view of the ring, one of those impressions is the French hallmarks for 18k gold.
Beautiful pop of color with the blue sapphires and a great linear look. The perfect stacker, and also substantial and beautiful worn alone.
Antique box not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7, not sizable. The band is 8.1mm wide and 2.5mm thick / deep off the finger. It weighs a sturdy 7.6 grams so a substantial hand feel.
The diamonds are each about 2mm give or take. Exact depth and thereby carat weight is unknown but just using estimations it is around 3/4 of a carat total weight in diamonds / 0.75ctw.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Three of the diamonds are more modern cuts and likely replacements. Some of the sapphires have nicks and one is chipped with loss to the top of it, but to the eye they all appear full and complete, still square, as none of the chip is to the side making the stone appear smaller or broken if that makes sense. It's just if you were to study the surface of that one sapphire in a reflection where you would notice the unevenness, it still fills the channel setting with no gaps. There is a spot of yellow gold to the channel so it was likely a solder in that it is slightly a different hue. If you take the ring off and lay it on its side, you can see the hallmark on the vertical edge of the band. There is another mark / impression on that side near the hallmark that almost looks like an intentional strike but there is nothing legible so it may be a ding or scuff. Typical antique diamonds, a few with open culets, some slightly cloudy or with a frosty inclusion here or they're seen only under magnification. They are small so these things aren't really visible while wearing, they just have a lovely sparkle. Sturdy piece.
It is a lovely sparkler, beautiful to wear. But Due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.
