FRENCH Antique Linear Four Stone Art Deco 18k GOLD .4 Carat Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Dangle Dormeuse EARRINGs

ABOUT:

Beautiful French antique dangle earrings, each holding a row of four old mine cut diamonds in prongs. Crafted in 18k yellow gold and topped in white gold - The settings are illusion settings in that the white gold prongs widen out underneath the stone to make the stones appear larger. There is a linear post below the top diamond and the three additional are attached by loop so they can dangle independently.

Art Deco era pair of earrings that I acquired in France. So romantic with the buttery antique gold and the old cut diamonds. But with a still relevant linear look. These are always so popular. But Please note the measurements.

Many of my French dormeuse are inserted from the back of the ear but these are even sturdier and less finicky in that they have a spring loaded hinged back, so they are inserted from the front of the ear, the backs then spring closed securely.

Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.

French hallmarks for 18k gold on the ear wires. Antique box not included. Once more - Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers draw them out to get an idea of scale.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

They measure about 20mm top to bottom. The pair weighs 3.7g combined.

The diamonds are each 2 to 2.3mm, I would not remove them but estimates to around .2 carat per earring, .4 carat total weight in diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with natural inclusions and some frosty spots. They are small so this is not very evident. They have a lovely sparkle. One of the top diamonds appears quite frosty overall with some shallow flakes of loss adding to that frosty appearance f the stone but again this is all mostly seen under magnification. There are a few nibbles to a girdle here or there not seen by the eye.

A worn prong here and there as we commonly find on pieces of this age, so this one needs gentler wear which earrings by nature are usually, more gently worn. Enough remain to hold them and none of the stones move but not recommended for 24/7 wear and something to always keep an eye on with antique jewelry in original condition.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
