ABOUT:

Beautiful French antique 18k gold charm or pendant depicting the profile of Mary or with the roses, perhaps Saint Therese, with beautiful open work cutouts and flowers on the right side. It has the most wonderful patina in a rich and glowing buttery gold. Just what you want to see on a piece of this age.

Textbook Art Nouveau design by renowned artist Emile Dropsy (1848-1923) - one of the premier Art Nouveau artists of the period. It is surrounded by a halo of seed pearls. This Belle Epoque era French piece has such beautiful detail. Another interesting part of its story is that it was later personalized on the back and dated for Claude, 27-5-1961 (May 27, 1961). The piece dates to much older than that, late 1800s to very early 1900s so perhaps it was an heirloom piece that was later personalized.

It would make a beautiful addition to a charm bracelet, amulet necklace, neckmess or neckstack.

HALLMARKS:

Stamped with the French hallmark for 18k gold with makers mark.
The chain in the photos is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:

32x16mm not including the jump ring. Weighs 2.85 g.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some surface wear to the gold from wear over the years, but no deep dings or bends or anything terribly distracting. Beautiful buttery gold. There is some space between the pearls that allows them to move, which is how it was made, very intricate work with the tiny pearl stung on a tiny wire surrounding the piece. A very fine example with no damage.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )

But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
