French VICTORIAN Floral Tricolor 18k Gold 20g X- Long Guard Box Link Muff Double Chain Necklace w/ Slide & Dog Clip Pendant Holder Bracelet

Wore this one all over Europe as well during my recent sourcing trip where I found this one in France!

Beautiful glowing Victoria era long guard chain, originally likely held a watch or chatelaine item but makes a beautiful and unique layering chain. This gorgeous French Victorian period piece is crafted in rich tricolor 18k gold on the floral slide pendant which has applied green and rose gold leaf detail. The chain is a fine sort of herring bone box chain. Such a wonderful color and warm glow not to be found on modern made gold pieces.

This one does not open to stretch end to end but can be worn as a body chain, single and long, or doubled / tripled and shorter in your neckmess / neckstack. When doubled, you can loop it over the neck twice, or fold it in half and use the dog clip to clasp to itself to the end of the chain, wearing the dog clip and slide to the side, etc. So many options! You can also adjust the chain to equal lengths or draped, or short and long, etc. Or you can wear it doubled with the dog clip facing down to swap out pendants. I can also wear it wrapped around the wrist as a shimmering multi chain bracelet. Please note the measurements though as we all come in wonderfully different shapes and sizes. Sturdy hand feel at almost 20 grams of solid 18k gold. It is stamped with the French hallmarks on the dog clip and on the loop connecting the chain.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 19.9 grams.
Stretched end to end doubled it is 27 1/2 inches. It's about 53 inches of linear chain all together (over 4.4 feet!) but does not open to stretch end to end as it is one big hoop
The chain links are about 1.4mm gauge. The slide is 14x10mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Perfect rich antique patina and beautiful glow - No dings or dents, just the slightest ripple from age and wear to the chain links here or there but a gorgeous Victorian chain offered in excellent condition. A little bit of build up and surface wear, I gave it a gentle soak to preserve the antique patina but could be cleaned up to more vibrant if desired.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
