ABOUT:
Beautiful and eye catching French late Art Deco early Vintage period dormeuse / sleeper dangle earrings in 18k gold. Not commonly found with bezel settings.
Each one holds a 4.5mm transitional cut diamond with an open back, in the classic bezel setting with illusion faceting to the gold at the top for added sparkle. The dangles are attached to the ear posts by loops so that they can move to catch the light and sparkle.
Really tight and springy, ready for regular wear.
Really beautiful and interesting settings with bright and sparkling diamonds. Would be a beautiful something old for a bride. Please note the measurements! They are always included but I often get feedback about earrings that they are smaller than expected - millimeter measurements are always below! : )
Found in France with worn hallmarks on the ear wires that are no longer decipherable although the counter strike is there and it is their textbook fabrication in addition to being found there, guaranteed at 18k gold.
Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
They measure about 15 mm top to bottom from the top of the ear wire to the base of the earring.
The transitional cuts are about 4.5mm each. I don't remove stones from their settings for measuring but estimates to about .75 carat total weight for the pair.
This pair of earrings weighs 2.3 grams combined.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Tight and springy hinges, better than many dormeuse that can be found. They snap closed and wear securely. One diamond is eye clean with just a few small specks seen under magnification. The other has a frosty pocket inclusion with some carbon and is situated just over the culet. It's not a solid ink spot but is slightly eye visible. The diamonds are nice and bright in color with a good sparkle, lively and not dingy in any way.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
