ABOUT:
A super cool older vintage baguette diamond ring with a rectangular platform face holding six channel set, crystal clear baguette diamonds. Really fun to wear and stack, this sturdy piece boasts 1.2 carat of bright white, eye clean baguette diamonds, perfectly set into the ring face to make a flat platform surface.
The baguette diamonds, being part of the step cut method of cutting, creates that hall of mirrors effect with the added shimmer and shine of the heavy 18k gold. So it really catches the light and sparkles, both from the diamonds, the gold and the top flat facets. With a sturdy hand feel weighing almost 11 grams, this piece is all quality.
Minimalist linear details at each of the four corners of the gold setting lead up to the also linear ring face, so it layers well with other pieces or makes an awesome geometric piece to wear alone. This one could be considered unisex with the timeless geometric design.
Found in Austria. The piece has an older style hallmark making it an earlier vintage piece. It is stamped 750, the numerical hallmark used in Europe for 18k gold. It also has a maker's mark and a symbol hallmark.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures size 7 1/4. The ring face is 5.8mm north to south, and 20mm wide east to west. It stands 3.5mm tall off the finger. It weighs a very sturdy 10.9 grams.
Each diamond is about 4.3 by 3mm and about .2 carat each which aligns with the estimate given to me where I purchased it of 1.2 carats tdw.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
In better than most condition. The diamonds are eye clean, VVS in clarity. I was told they are G/H in color. No damage, no chips, no nibbles, no inclusions even under magnification. A super sturdy setting that sparkles and glows. Surface wear as expected for a preowned piece but that is about the only thing to report, even though my condition reports are notoriously picky and detailed. A unique one!
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
