ABOUT:
Highly collectible Georgian locket pendant in their version of the shape of a heart with a bow / garland surround.
The front cover is a thick convex stone that appears to be a moonstone with inner schiller, which reflects the light beautifully and also tends to magnify what is inside. It opens only from the back with the back panel flipping upwards. We always recognize these Georgian hearts by their almost turnip shape, which were the early iterations of the heart motif during that period. So beautiful.
I got this originally in the UK. No hallmarks remain it tests at 10k, possibly higher but I don't have a test for 12k. The halo of diamonds are set in silver.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

MEASUREMENTS:
24mm to the attached loop, not including the jump ring x 18mm x 6mm deep. It weighs 3.2g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The center stone has a lovely sheen and glow. The diamonds look every bit their age, gray from age to the closed back, lots of frosty and rough edges, irregular cuts. They tend to always look this way.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Striking to wear with the figural shape. Due to age, I would avoid getting it wet with the diamonds in closed back settings.
