Special stock drop of some fun figural antique pieces, several of these are personal collection releases that I have enjoyed! : )
Highly collectible Georgian locket pendant in the shape of a heart with a bow above, set with flat cut garnets and a few rubies. Not at all uncommon to find a mix of gemstones on the same piece as the jewelers of the time used whatever they had available to them and was the best eye match when it came to gemstone hues and shape. They have a beautiful pinkish red color.
The front and back cover are a thick convex rock crystal which reflects the light beautifully and I assume was intended to magnify what is inside. It opens only from the back with the back panel flipping upwards. We always recognize these Georgian hearts by their almost turnip shape, which were the early iterations of the heart motif. So beautiful.
I got this originally in Europe. No hallmarks remain but sold to me as and tests at 14k gold, it has a lovely rosy patina.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

24mm x 16mm x 6mm deep. It weighs 2.6g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some solder marks on the back where the hinges and locket were connected to the gemset frame - I believe it was just made this way. There are some brass pins used in those areas likely for strength and again original. Locket back functions well and snaps closed and stays closed. Two of the gemstones are chipped with loss to their surface at the top left side of the bow. The color still fills the space and appears complete but you can see the unpolished surface due to the flakes of loss.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Striking to wear with the figural shape. Due to age, I would avoid getting it wet.
