ABOUT:
This has been another popular one in the previews. It has a wonderful antique look with typical Iberian antique details with the joy of being open backed so it is easier to wear and clean.
The rose cuts in the halo are set in tall bezels with linear engravings creating a sort of scalloped outline. At the center are three larger old mine cut diamonds in collet settings that appear as little starbursts with the patina. Plenty of antique sparkle with about 1.5 carat of antique diamonds.
The exceptional little details continue to the wide shank which is engraved all the way around. Found in Spain, we typically see pieces like this in foiled and closed back settings, I wonder if this one had the backs opened at some point in their long life - either way the result is lovely.
No hallmarks remain but all the pieces I purchased there were 18k as the standard with the diamonds set in silver as was customary for the period.
Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.
MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 5 1/4 on the mandrel, a little over. 5.5mm tall off the finger. Weighs a sturdy 5.7 Grams.
Ring face is 12.5x20mm.
Each of the center old mine cuts are about 4mm. The center one looks larger but it has a bigger collet setting serving as a sort of illusion setting. They all widen out an unknown amount in the collets which wrap around the girdle edges of the stone so this is just measuring the exposed portions. The rose cuts are about 2mm each give or take.
Exact carat weight can't be determined with the stones in the setting and I would never remove them. Just using estimates by millimeter of the exposed tops I am getting almost 1.5 carat.
IMPORTANT. CONDITION NOTES:
The center old mine cut is eye clean with the flanking stones more typical with inclusions including some gray carbon spots, in one more than the other. The side diamonds tend to read a bit more gray as well, also in part because they splay outward instead of facing up like the center stone.
The rose cuts are better than what we typically see, dutch cuts with a bit of a dome and more uniform faceting with a nice clarity, compared to many from the period that are usually rough cut and more irregular and frosty. They do have some inclusions, the end stones having small carbon specks and they too reflect the light differently so they read a bit gray but they have a tidy cutting and a lovely sparkle.
Sturdy setting, wonderful antique patina.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
