ABOUT:

Stock drop of some fun figural antique pieces, several of these are personal collection releases that I have enjoyed! : )

Wonderful French traditional antique regional brooch or pin. This large figural antique piece has Georgian era hallmarks for 18k used only for a short time in the early 1800s, it has a rosy gold patina. It also has the French eagle mark for Paris and departments. This piece is included in the ranks of collectible French Regional Jewelry. Regional, or folk jewelry, is defined by a particular style confined to a particular region. This one was worn by the women of Normandy to secure their scarf around their neck and were later sold in the seaside towns as souvenirs.

Large size to this figural piece for a stick pin, it would be beautiful converted to a pendant by your local jeweler. The pin has a hinged back at the top and a hook at the bottom to serve as the catch. Beautiful rose and yellow gold used in the making with the intricately coiled gold wire details between the petals and the interesting star center colored with blue and white enamel.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

Antique Boxes, props, chains, mice : ) not included. I just laid it over my staging chain to show examples of how to wear.

MEASUREMENTS:

Weight is 2.8g, the pin back is hinged and it is 43 millimeters end to end including the pin post, which extends just past the flower. The flower head is 25 mm wide so a larger scale than most stick pins.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some darker patina and a few spots of darkness to the braided rope coils. Some spotting to the gold but would be a pretty figural pendant conversion. Some iridescent patina to the back. The front center is a unique fabrication with an applied grayish blue material with red highlights that are probably glass? The center is a little bit uneven in coloring and looks like red paint, not sure if it was hand-painted or what the center is fabricated from.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Striking to wear with the figural shape.

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
