GIARDINETTI Antique Floral Bouquet Ring Ruby Emerald Old Mine Cut Diamond Georgian Leaf Shoulders
GIARDINETTI Antique Floral Bouquet Ring Ruby Emerald Old Mine Cut Diamond Georgian Leaf Shoulders
I was blessed to take some inventory trips to Europe these past months and have come back with many "new" antique pieces in all price points. I will be listing new items each week for the foreseeable future so please feel free to follow. These items have been hand picked, one treasure at a time from all around Europe as I try to curate a collection of unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
ABOUT:
Here is a lovely Georgian antique giardinetti ring with a mix of gemstones including an emerald, two rubies and two diamonds for a wonderful pop of color. Beautiful leaf details at each shoulder. One of the diamonds is a foil backed rose cut, the other is a unique rectangular old mine cut.
This is an extremely reluctant personal collection release from the Georgian period. I acquired it in Europe and have been enjoying it so much as many antique jewelry collectors are drawn to the giardinetti form. Just can't keep them all and we are saving up for some home renovation so I decided to offer it up. I love floral and figural rings.
No hallmarks remain but tests at 18k gold.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4, the ring face is 10.7mm north to south. It weighs 2.6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. Important to consider age of over 200 years to this piece. Some natural inclusions to all the stones. The emerald is slightly paler in color and shows some warmth within, as does the rose cut in the closed back setting from age. The rectangular old mine cut diamond is chipped in one corner leaving a frosty edge from the shallow flakes of loss. It sits a little crooked in the setting but it is not moving. Some nicks to the rubies and emerald as well that can catch the light if you are looking for it. The piece does Not look to me like it has been reshanked although there is some solder at one shoulder inside so it may have been fortified. Some gaps around the bezels which I believe may also have been fortified over the last 200 years as they appear a bit uneven in places and the rose cut bezel is more crimped than the others. Keeping all these things in mind, I have priced it to sell, being sold as is. Still wearable and not super fragile compared to some of this age although you'd want to keep an eye on the bezels over time.
But as with all my estate pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item.
Thanks so much for looking at my items!
