ABOUT:
MAGICAL! This is a tough one for me to describe because the glowing color to the stone is so unique! I haven't seen one like it, it is so interesting and fun to wear.
I was stumped by it so I took it to my local jeweler who is a certified gemologist with over 40 years experience and he identified it as a natural Chrysoberyl.
As I wear it from room to room, it seems to change color based on the lighting. And in fluorescent light, it has a linear striation in the stone, like a cat's eye but it is horizontal. In ambient light and sunlight, it isn't visible, but has an inner glow similar to a moonstone.
French antique sturdy wide band ring in warm rosy 18k gold with linear shoulders leading up to the glossy oval cabochon gemstone.
Off the finger, the stone is a pale dusty pink color with a warm glow. Under lit magnification it has a milky iridescence to it, almost like a moonstone with some warm to pale blue hues. On the finger it reads a warm pink to richer gray, again with that wonderful glow from within.
The stone has many inclusions, some icy, some tiny specks, but also some milky white specks seen when you view it from the side under magnification. A very interesting stone and I am assuming quite rare as I have never seen one like it, currently on the market or ever before - fun to wear.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7. Shank is 7mm north south at the shoulders tapering but remaining wide all the way around, the gemstone is 14x10mm. Its weighs 7.6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As mentioned above many inclusions which can catch the light and are eye visible. Some nibbles, nicks and scratches to the stone but still appears quite glossy. Is it just me or does the oval seem to list slightly to one side? Very subtle, it's an awesome piece to wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
