HEART Victorian PADLOCK Antique GARNET 10k Gold Solid Pendant Locket Back Figural Etched Reversible Puffy

Been hunting for one of these for years!
Victorian antique figural padlock pendant crafted in 10k to 12k (?) gold with oval garnet at center. Gorgeous all over engravings to the puffy heart design with so many details covering the front and back.

On the left side is the latch to open and close the top bar which is faceted to catch the light and shimmer. A little forget me not flower is engraved on each end of the opening bar / bale, on both sides. The garnet is in such great condition, the piece appears to have been hardly worn and mostly stored away as a keepsake / memento. On the reverse is a glass locket panel in the teardrop / pear shape that was used to represent the heart shape in olden times. Beneath the glass is an intricately woven panel of what I assume is hair but is so fine and delicate that it appears as a swath of fabric with two tone coloring.

Antique jewelry collectors love these so they are getting harder and harder to find!

Found in the UK. It holds a test for 14k but weakens so I suspect it is 12k gold - but as we do not have a test for that here, being that it is not one of our standards, I am selling it as 10k to be safe. Gorgeous and rich antique patina to the gold. The garnet appears deep red but lights up a berry color purple in direct light.

Antique boxes, props, extras, etc are not included. Listing is for the one piece shown in the cover photo. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics.

MEASUREMENTS:
31x21mm. It weighs 6.6 grams. the garnet is about 8x8mm. The puffy heart is 13mm deep.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The piece is in all original condition with antique patina but the garnet is in perfect condition which makes this better than most in that regard. The faceted bar / bale clicks double into the lock to secure it when opening and closing it. There are some tool marks on the gold at the top of the glass locket rim but the locket back does not open - it appears to have had a band of gold solder secured around it by a jeweler in antiquity to secure it shut. Some nibbles and surface wear to the glass but it is not cloudy or dull. This is a good one!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable. Sold as is (no returns) at this price point.
Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
