HEARTS Ornate Shield RUBY Old Single Cut DIAMOND Ring 18k Gold Silver

Back from my summer inventory trips to several countries / cities in Europe. I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
An ornate ring with raised shield face with heart designs on the north and south ends. This ring dates to the turn of the century c1900. I found it in Rome on my last sourcing trip there. At center is a ruby and then each of the four corners is set with an old single cut diamond.

Nice quality with sturdy hand feel.

I learned on my trip that this style, with the gold setting and the flourished ring face topped in silver and set with stones is a typical Italian design popular around the turn of the century / early 1900s. I saw a few of this style while shopping around and purchased two of my favorite ones. To me, it almost has giardinetti vibes too, with the scroll work appearing a bit foliate in design.

Ornate and beautiful with a pop of color from the ruby and the little glints of sparkle from the old mine cut diamonds.

Crafted in 18k gold with the ring face topped in silver which has a lovey antique patina. (Tested, no hallmarks remain.)

Antique boxes, props, mice, dishes ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Size 9. Should be a good candidate for sizing the way the stones are elevated on a sort of platform with the shield face.

Ring face is 18x14mm. It weighs a sturdy 3.6 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A bit of surface wear and lovely age appropriate patina. The old single cuts appear quite frosty but they add a nice glint of sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
