ABOUT:
MEGA Heavy French antique signet ring with a banner design with chevron, diamond and fleur de lis shaped engravings in each of the four quadrants. This might be my heaviest ever.
You just would not believe the hand feel on this piece. Often times the ring faces are hallowed out to preserve weight but this one is all solid 18k gold front to back with a super thick rounded shank, and even a thickness to the ring face - it really has that solid gold nugget feel. Substantial one that could be a man ring or unisex. French antique found in Paris with their hallmark for 18k at the back.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 8 1/2. It weighs a very heavy 22 grams.
The ring face is 17mm north to the south on the finger and it stands 3.7mm tall off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Pretty much indestructible with the use of such thick solid gold. Some deeper nicks and dings around the oval ring face as seen in the zoomed photos but really just surface wear, scratches, all as expected considering age. With the domed mirrored finish it is how they always look. Some patina in the recesses but a super legible design. Excellent quality.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
