I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
A special and substantial beauty - this chunky and sleek piece has the most amazing hand feel in addition to the impactful scale of the antique old mine cut diamonds. The center diamond is exactly 4.08 carats alone, eye clean with the most delicious color - it is an exceptional antique stone. Seems to change in color from room to room depending on the lighting. With a wonderful kaleidoscope Kozibe effect as well, always a sought after phenomenon of antique stones.
The side stones provide a lovely accent amidst the brushed satin finish of the sturdy 18k gold setting. They are slightly elongated and also with a wonderful clarity and a chunky cut bringing the ring to a total carat weight of 5.2 carats all together.
What a joy it is to slide this one on the hand, with the gold work softened to be a comfort fit and the matte finish giving the piece a softness that works so well with the antique sparkle. We also enjoy this type of finish on a ring in the way it helps it mask wear to the gold.
This one is certainly no delicate flower with a heavy, all quality feel on the hand and a weight of 14.5 grams.
This one could be considered unisex in size, scale and style.
The diamonds are all antique and salvaged and the setting while pre-owned was created in the modern to late vintage era. The jeweler I purchased it from bought it from a woman who had it made as a custom piece for herself with stones she salvaged from antique pieces. She wore it for a time as a stacker and he had purchased the ring and some antique settings from her among other pieces as he has worked with her frequently over the years purchasing from her collection. The jeweler told me it was made by Taffin but as it is unsigned, I can't confirm it except to pass along what was told to me.
My items sell well without paperwork and we know that GIA grading is subjective and doesn't apply well to antique stones as it was created decades later for modern machine cut diamonds with mathematically perfected facets. But I will pass along the information give to me that it estimates to VS in clarity. See more notes below as I always provide a more detailed write up than a letter grade would provide. It was sold to me as N in color but seems to veer into a more noticeable yellow in some light, accented and assisted by its being flush set in yellow gold which can also contribute to the color. Like many antique stones, it can also face up whiter in some ambience so I've shown it in various lighting conditions which displays how it is true to life, sometimes reading warm, other times whiter, and other times yellow. This is my preferred color to find in diamonds from the antique period so I am always seeking them out. It's delicious, not dull or dingy.
Feel free to request more videos since it tends to change face out differently from a color perspective from room to room / lighting to lighting.
Antique Box IS Included! These old boxes are collectible and hold value. The box is not original to the piece, but I am including it as a gift because it's always fun to store our goodies in collectible housing : )
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
A snug size 6 3/4.
Weighs 14.5 grams. A lot of gold used in the making of this piece. The ring face is 12.7mm north south and 7.3mm tall off the finger with the domed ring face which tapers at the back to a thinner and comfortable to wear shank that is still super substantial.
The center diamond is 9.3x8.9mm just measuring the exposed portion. It was weighed loose on a scale prior to my purchasing and is exactly 4.08 carats.
The side diamonds are 5.3x4.5mm (around half a carat) and 5.4x4.4mm with a chunkier cut, closer to .6 carat. They appear as a match in size while wearing.
These measurements are just measuring the exposed portions, they widen out a further unknown amount in the flush mountings and the thickness of the girdle is not visible. Total carat weight is around 5.2 carats.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Very sturdy setting. The matte finish is not perfectly uniform as seen in the photos. This type of effect can also be polished back to high shine gold by your local jeweler if preferred but I love it as it is.
The center diamond is eye clean as is one of the side stones, with only the smallest pinpoint or speck inclusions seen under magnification. The eye clean side diamond is whiter in color. The other side stone has a bit of warmth and two areas with indented natural inclusions leaving a frosty crease at the surface. This is slightly eye visible but not glaring because of the stone's sparkle and the fact that none of the inclusions are large inky spots.
Beautiful and lively stones, bright and not dingy, overall well matching with a nice and chunky antique sparkle. A great quality piece especially considering the stones are better than most when it comes to clarity for antique diamonds cut in a much more limited supply.
One of my most popular in the previews, it's a real crowd pleaser! Next day shipping with signature and insurance at my cost.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
