Back from my inventory trips to Europe - I am selling an assortment of antique jewelry which I have hunted for and gathered and hand selected piece by piece from around the world. Please see my other offerings - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
A sturdy, chunky antique gypsy band with center natural sapphire flanked by old mine cut diamonds. Aside from being a classic and sought after design combining the three stone with the flush mount stones, I especially love this one because the side stones are champagne in color. They look beautiful with the silky true blue coloring of the natural sapphire and warm rosy hue to the antique gold.

I purchased this one in Slovakia which was part of Austria-Hungary from 1867 until the empire collapsed in 1918. As such it has the antique period Astro Hungarian hallmark for 14k gold that was discontinued in the early 1900s.

Appropriate size and scale for male or female, eye catching and substantial alone but also layers well.

Please note the measurements as I have small hands. Antique box not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It is a size 9 1/2. It weighs 6.25 grams. Ring face is 7.1mm north to south and about 3.5mm tall off the finger. The diamonds are about .35 and .27 carat each. About 4mm each and matching to the eye but one has a chunkier cut. They both crop out of the ring face beautifully which we love to see in our antique stones.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. The diamonds are excellent in that they are eye clean but one has a frosty flake of loss to the outside facet. It does not affect the table of the stone nor does it affect it's shape, so to the eye and while wearing, it appears complete, but when you study the edge you can see the frostiness in that one unpolished spot. The champagne hues are subtle and give the piece a beautiful warmth. A few abrasions and nicks to the sapphire but each individual in that it does not appear scuffed or dull or have a matte finish. It has lovely chevron rutile silk inclusions under magnification which contribute to it's color. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Very sweet piece from a very special era. I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
